Alzheimer: reminiscence as care for the bond
Alzheimer disease gradually erases recent memory, but preserves old, sensory and emotional memory for a long time. It is on this intact memory that reminiscence therapy is based.
Why reminiscence works
A childhood photograph, the voice of a loved one, an old song can reopen conversations where words were lacking. Numerous studies (HAS, France Alzheimer) show a measurable reduction in anxiety and an improvement in the quality of the bond.
Reminiscence does not reverse the illness, but it gives the patient a sense of identity and the loved ones the joy of recognizing others.
How MYWIE actually helps
Families work together to build a digital book organized by periods of life: childhood, adolescence, adult life, parenthood. Each page combines photos, audios, short videos and written anecdotes.
Senior mode simplifies the display: large thumbnails, automatic audio playback, navigation by periods. A caregiver can leaf through the book with the sick person in just a few clicks.
Support designed with caregivers
MYWIE provides practical sheets, workshop suggestions and a help chatbot which systematically cites the Ethics Charter and the RGPD before responding.
No medical data is stored: MYWIE is a linking tool, not a care record.
